• The current batch is of Gujarat variety, and comes from our own small associate farm in the Western India. This Cumin/Jeera Sabut seeds are slightly bitter, spicy pungency, particularly once ground, however roasting or frying the seeds can reduce the harsh flavour, making the taste nuttier
• As farmers, we are conscious of the harm that excessive chemical fertilizers and pesticides can do to nature and to us. We use only organically grown spices processed without the use of toxic pesticides, radiation, or genetically engineered products
• Our products are strictly grown for domestic use and not for any commercial purpose, where only the surplus is collected and traditionally processed from collection to drying to packaging. We make all our spices powdered in a very traditional way, and don't extract any oils from our spices. We also don't use any kind of preservatives, additives etc. on our spices. Our Products are Certified Organic.

Cumin is the dried, white fruit with greyish brown colour of a small slender annual herb. The surface of the fruit has 5 primary ridges, alternatively has 4 less distinct secondary ridges bearing numerous short hairs. The plant is 15 to 50 cm high. The aromatic seed like fruit is elongated, ovoid, 3 to 6 mm long, slightly bitter and has a warm flavour. The flowers are white or rose coloured in small umbels. Cooks in India favor the use of whole cumin seeds, which are usually tempered in oil along with other spices at the beginning of the cooking process.
